We’ll highlight some of the top events taking place over the next few weeks. You won’t be disappointed with the variety of things to do!

Barrie Winterfest (February 1-2, 2020)

Voted as one of the top 100 festivals and events in Ontario, Barrie Winterfest has something for everyone. You’ll enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities and family fun: shows, artwork, vendors and more are all hosted at Heritage Park and Meridian Place. General activities include horse-drawn wagon rides, mini-golf, a winter cookout and bonfire warming stations. You’ll find ice sculpture displays, lumberjack shows and lots of great food.

The February Blues XXIII (January 30 – February 2, 2020)

The annual February Blues Festival takes place within various bars, restaurants, libraries and concert venues in town. Featuring Canadian artists, you’ll enjoy live jazz music and a great overall atmosphere.

Mamma Mia (February 6 – 16, 2020)

The timeless music of ABBA is brought to life onstage in the Mamma Mia musical! If you enjoy live theatre, this is one show you won’t want to miss. The story of a young girl in search of her birth father is told through dialogue and your favourite ABBA songs. Taking place at the Georgian theatre, it’s fun for the whole family.

Family Day at Sportsplex (February 17, 2020)

Barrie Community Sports Complex hosts a Family Day of fun. You’ll enjoy horse-drawn sleigh rides, skating, hockey and much more. The event takes place in Midhurst from 10 am – 2 pm.

Reel Stories Film Fest (February 20 – 23, 2020)

Entering into its 16th year, this annual film festival showcases 10 films at the Uptown Theatre over 4 days. Experience documentaries and independent films inspired by everyday life. Tickets are available for $10.

Hot Cocoa Trail (Every Weekend in February)

You’ll get to enjoy this warm winter treat along a trail in Downtown Barrie. You’ll experience 20 different hot cocoa varieties along your stroll, and you’ll have the opportunity to support Seasons Centre for Grieving Children at this event.

Beyond the Hello Winter event, you can enjoy other winter fun in Barrie, including skiing and snowboarding fun, Barrie Colts games, and more.
